'Store City' provides sixty food hampers to six children's centers across the borough
This Christmas ‘Store City’, the food bank that operates out of Bethel Church has provided 60 food hampers to six children’s centres across the borough.
The hampers will be sent to six children’s centres across the constituency: Leys, in Wellington Road; John Perry, in Auriel Avenue; William Bellamy, in Frizlands Lane; Wellgate, in Rose Lane; Marsh Green and the childrens centre in Ford Lane. Thanks to ‘Store City’ and Bethel Church each centre will receive ten hampers, filled with clothes, toys and food.
Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham said: “Christmas can be an expensive and stressful time, especially with the economy as it is right now. Thanks to this excellent project, sixty families across the constituency are having a happier Christmas than they otherwise would have done – which just goes to show that the real spirit of Christmas is alive and well in our community. Food banks provide a vital service to local families, helping them with the essentials and basics to get them back on their feet.”
