London City Airport Launches £75,000 Community Fund

London City Airport has launched a new £75,000 Community Fund to support local charities and organisations that represent inclusive and diverse communities across East London.

Grants ranging from £300 to £3,000 are available for charities and not-for-profit organisations to enable significant and positive change for communities across East London Boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Bexley, Epping Forest District Council, Greenwich, Hackney, Havering, Newham, Lambeth, Lewisham, Redbridge, Southwark, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.

Jon Cruddas MP welcomed the new community fund: "this is a brilliant initiative and it's a positive step to see London City Airport giving back to the area in a meaningful way. I hope local charities across Barking and Dagenham and Havering will take advantage of this opportunity by applying for grant funding to support their work."

How it works

Applications are considered four times a year by a board of Trustees from London City Airport and representatives from the local community, as well as an independent chair. This means that with great local insight and expertise, the Trustees evaluate applications using their knowledge to ensure the greatest possible benefit goes to the community.

Funding Criteria

To qualify for any of the available Grant you will have to be a charity or not-for-profit organisation and your project is expected to adhere to the following criteria:

  1. Building stronger, safer and healthier communities
  2. Creating more sustainable and greener communities
  3. Raising aspirations of East Londoners
  4. Creating pathways into employment
