Controlled Parking Zone Campaign

 change_history

In just three weeks 1151 residents have responded to the informal controlled parking zone consultation launched by Jon Cruddas MP, with 989 completing an online survey, 54 direct emails and 108 responses by post. 86% of constituents taking part said they did not support the scheme and 70% of people have expressed that there was poor communication between the community and council, with many pointing out the unfortunate timing of the consultation when residents were preoccupied with the pandemic. Perhaps LBBD should take a leaf out of Hackney’s book on how to communicate residents.
The first I knew of the CPZ was when the lines appeared, it’s absolutely appalling.
If this is for our benefit the council should change the hours and give free weekend parking
We did not receive any letters, lived here 40years. Disappointing.
There has never been a parking problem on the Rylands, now thanks to the council there is.
It is an absolute joke. Just another way to get more money from residents.
I can see the point of cpzs near tube stations – but this isn’t an issue on the Rylands
Why ask what residents think and then totally disregard the outcome!?
I am in my 70s without online access so couldn’t take part in the consultation.
Terribly organised, bad communication. RIDICULOUS rules.
Cynical money-making exercise that’s created parking issues where none existed.
Dropped kerbs being refused and we have to pay to park in the street. Something not right.
Carers and health visitors need free permits, or this policy will hurt the most vulnerable.
I’ve had more trouble parking since restrictions came in. Not enough bays.
I don’t have a computer or smartphone, there was no way for me to respond.
We were not consulted about this we were sent letters TELLING us the CPZ is happening.
I did not receive any information about this, so a bit puzzled when the lines appeared.
They have cunningly pushed these plans through without our knowledge.

Hands off our healthcare

 change_history
Hands off our healthcare campaign image

Throughout my time as the MP I have consistently fought for our local NHS but over the years government cuts have resulted in the dramatic loss of services in Havering. The Mardyke surgery was closed and never replaced, services at Rainham and South Hornchurch have been reduced, the Mungo Park GP closed leaving over 3,000 residents having to travel further afield for appointments and now reports that the Spring Farm GP surgery in Upminster Road North is to close in the Spring.

The reduction of services has left Queen's Hospital under increasing pressure and enough is enough. I'm calling on NHS England and the government to deliver additional health facilities and services in Havering. https://joncruddas.org.uk/hands-off-our-healthcare
