The revelation that Queens hospital declared an “internal critical incident” on 12 March due to bed pressures at the hospital is a massive concern to all local residents. The critical incident means that the management at the hospital will have to seek support from other hospitals across London and elsewhere in order to cope with demand for health care and hospital admissions.
Today (Friday 16 December) Jon Cruddas MP met with Gloria Simmons and Keith Hutton of the Chadwell Heath Residents Association (CHRA) to receive an 800 strong petition, calling on Transport for London to re-route the 86 bus to Queen’s Hospital.
Figures from the NHS show that 62,399 people are waiting for NHS treatment across Barking, Havering, and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. 1,816 people locally have been waiting for more than a year under the watch of three separate Conservative Health Secretaries.
The latest figures from the NHS show that at the end of September 2021, there were 52,589 people on the waiting list at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. 1077 of these people had been waiting for more than a year for an appointment.
