Local Nurse Receives RCN Rising Star Award

Jon Cruddas MP and Margaret Mullane, Labour PPC for Dagenham and Rainham, have sent their congratulations to local Mental Health Nurse, Shalini Ramguttee. Shalini won the London Royal College of Nursing’s Rising Stars award to recognise excellence in patient care, innovation, and leadership from London’s Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic nursing community. 

Universal Credit and Single Parent Families

Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham has been contacted by Changing Realities, a project launched by University of York and Child Poverty Action Group regarding a recent report on Single Parents, Universal Credit and Mental Health. The research found that 32% of Single Parents who are on universal credit suffer with some form of mental health problem compared to 28% for all adults who are on UC.

NELFT Young Adult Network

Jon Cruddas MP was recently contacted by NELFT in regard to their Young Adult Network. 

As a member of the group individuals will: 

  • Help co-produce key transformation projects affecting Young Adults. 
  • Ensure Young Adults have an input and voice for every decision affecting their services with NELFT.  

To qualify to join the group you must be aged 18 to 24 years old and a user of NELFT services. Individuals are paid for their time and experience. 

Havering Mind Ready For Adulthood Programme

Jon Cruddas MP was recently contacted by Mind in Havering in regard to their upcoming “Ready For Adulthood” programme. The programme is a 6-week face-to-face programme which starts on Friday 4th November from 12:30-2:30pm. It will be held at Mind’s offices in Hornchurch at Harrow Lodge House, RM11 1JU.
