Rainham Road South Resurfacing Works

Works to resurface a section of Rainham Road South begin on Monday 4th April 2022. It is anticipated to take six days to complete, working weekdays only.

To enable the works to be carried out in a safe manner, between the hours of 09.30 – 17.00 the council contractor will need to close adjacent side roads to Rainham Road South whilst undertaking their work. These Phasing of the works are as follows: -

  • 4th and 5th April 2022 - Western Avenue to Aldborough Road (Southbound Carriageway), side roads closed will be Western Avenue and Aldborough Road.
  • 6th an 7th April 2022 – Shafter Road to Sandown Avenue (Northbound Carriageway), side roads closed will be Western Avenue, Dewey Road and Sandown Avenue junction adjacent to 653 Rainham Road South.
  • 8th April 2022 – Aldborough Road to Old Dagenham Methodist Church (Southbound Carriageway), side roads closed will be Aldborough Road and Manor Road.
  • 11th April 2022 – Sandown Avenue to Opposite Old Dagenham Methodist Church (Northbound Carriageway), sides roads closed will be Sandown Avenue junction adjacent to 657 Rainham Road South. Church Street junction will have a restricted access which will be maintained by an operative.

There may be occasions where access to the roads and pavements are impeded by parked cars. If a car is in the way and owners are unable to move it, the contractors will be able to arrange a vehicle lifter to move the car.  Assurances have been given that this will be done by a fully qualified and insured vehicle lifting contractor and cars will be replaced at the end of the works.
