Havering Council are currently developing ?Havering's Homelessness Prevention and Rough Sleeper Strategy 2020-2025' and are asking residents for their input.

The Council have stated that they are committed to enhancing local services to support and protect those who find themselves homeless and vulnerable. They aim to learn the lessons as to why this happens, and plug the gaps where possible to improve early intervention and preventative work.

The strategy will be based on collective insights and local intelligence highlgihting areas where homelessness has been witnessed in Havering. The strategy will be a live working document that is reviewed every two years to ensure Havering are delivering on all objectives.

Havering are in the process of writing a new strategy to cover the period 2020-25 and welcome residents comments and feedback.

The consultation will be an opportunity for residents to tell Havering how they can provide help to people in the borough, particularly those who approach the council in times of difficulty when they are at risk of homelessness or are already homeless. Homelessness and rough sleeping is a traumatic experience for anyone and at times it causes irreversable harm to individual mental health and well-being.

The consultation has been extended until Thursday 5th of March 2020. To complete the consultation click HERE
