Comments on Parsonage Parking

Dear Sir

Controlled Parking Zones/Yellow Lines - will mean residents may not be able to park outside their OWN houses

Resident Parking Bays - currently school parents park across our driveways, so resident bays will probably mean parents will park in them if no-one is here to check!

Speed Bumps/20mph limit - will not affect parking or congestion, a complete waste of time and money

School parents are often concerned with getting their children parked as close as possible with little regard for residents. A solution is a drive in/out scheme (like the american car pool) and take the land from the Allen Road side of the schools exsisting green area. They are fortunate enough to have two large green areas and the Allen Road side is rarely used by the children.

Also find some on site parking for teachers/staff who also park outside our houses!  Parsonage Farm need to SHARE the responsbility.

Another solution is local council provide all Farm Road with drop kerbs to help alleviate some of the problem.  We should not have to shoulder the cost of the problem.

Schools, Crossings and drop kerbs

 Mr Jon Cruddas MP,

Sir,

We have a very simlar problem to Parsonage Farm Primary school, at The Thomas Arnold Primary School, Rowdowns Road, Dagenham, Essex, RM9 6NH at both the morning and evening drop off and collection times with cars in a very narrow turning parking on peoples properties, an Accident waiting to happen.

Also another problem which had been raised with the council is Broad Street in Dagenham, which is one of the main roads crossed by children going to Dagenham Park Church of England School there are a number of crossings in the road none of which are clear and require re-painting could this not be done soon.

My last question is regards to drop kerbs on properties in the Dagenham area, a few years ago we were told unless we had a drop kerb to our property we would no longer be able to park on our fronts, if we did we would be liable to a fine. We abided by this and paid the council for a drop kerb to our property. But to this date people without drop kerbs park on their fronts and just get away with it, if the coucil are looking to make some money this is an area it could do so very quickly. I feel I was duped into paying for the drop kerb when I could have spent the money on my family.

I look forward to a reply to my concerns above.

Regards,

Mr B. Thomas
