"Love the Borough weekend" with London Riverside Church

Jon Cruddas MP was recently contacted by London Riverside Church in regard to their "Love the Borough weekend". 

The church, located on Parsloes Avenue in Dagenham, closes its usual three Sunday services to run a Fun Day for the local community.

For the third year running, the church welcomes local people to their Fun Day where there will be a variety of activities for children and young people, as well as a free BBQ, jumble giveaway and nail salon for all.

Universal Credit and Single Parent Families

Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham has been contacted by Changing Realities, a project launched by University of York and Child Poverty Action Group regarding a recent report on Single Parents, Universal Credit and Mental Health. The research found that 32% of Single Parents who are on universal credit suffer with some form of mental health problem compared to 28% for all adults who are on UC.

Rainham Foodbank: More Than Food

Jon Cruddas MP was recently contacted by Rainham Foodbank in regard to their “More Than Food” service. Rainham Foodbank is part of Trussell Trust’s UK wide network of over 460 foodbanks, working to tackle food poverty and hunger across the UK.

They are a Christian charity that partner with local communities, providing non-judgemental help to people in crisis. They provide at least 3 days food for people in emergency and crisis and a number of frontline care professionals including GP’s, schools and Helplines can refer individuals.

Allergy Awareness Week 2023 in Parliament

This week (May 14th-May 21st) marks food allergy awareness week. The UK has on of the highest allergy rates in the world, with one third, 20 million people across the UK living with an allergic condition and Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham has always been a strong advocate of allergy awareness. Jon is currently the Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Allergies.

The London Borough of Havering Road Closures for Kings Coronation

Jon Cruddas MP was recently contacted by Havering Council in regard to road closures for street parties for the Kings Coronation. These closures will span over the 6th, 7th and 8th of May. You can find out the full list of road closures and the dates they are closed below:
